Summer is in its last few weeks, the mornings are starting to cool down and have a touch of fall to them, but the afternoons are still hot and clear. On these days I crave a cool drink that is packed with the season’s flavors and that is just what this iced citrus passion tea is. This tea is perfect for an afternoon barbecue or a picnic.
This recipe comes from my grandmother’s cookbook; altered it slightly. My grandmother’s cookbook is a vintage gem. There are so many amazing recipes and the little notes in my grandmother’s handwriting are heartwarming.
This is the second drink recipe that was inspired from that cookbook, the first one was a Grapefruit Smash Summer Cocktail – a refreshing drink for those big kid nights!
This tea is no short of flavor, it has a zing to it! The citrus provides tart sweetness and cinnamon sticks and whole clove add spice. This is an excellent drink to enjoy while the seasons are changing, it will leave you feeling cozy and refreshed. It has a little bit of summer and a touch of fall.
In most of my recipes, I encourage you to tailor it to your taste buds and this recipe is easy to do that with. Add more citrus, or cinnamon or water to dilute the zing. You can also use honey instead of sugar if you prefer a sugar-free drink.
