A soft pretzel that has a sweet taste of honey and flakes of salt sprinkled on top. Dipped in mustard creates a slight honey mustard taste without the honey mustard. A great snack that is perfect for a summer backyard BBQ or just a snack for the family.

I am one of those people who love to snack. I could snack all day if I wanted to. You know when your mom would tell you, you were going to ruin your dinner? Yea that’s was me, except now I am an adult and have no one to tell me to stop. Dinners sometimes don’t happen and my husband and I mutually agree, it’s a snack night.
Bread is one of my favorites to snack on, any type of bread I will take it, put a little butter on it and I’m in heaven. But when it is summer and the weather is warm, a soft pretzel is the way to go. There is something about a soft pretzel in the summertime. It the laid back, eat with your fingers food that easy to eat and even easier to make!
These pretzels have honey mixed right into the dough making them slightly sweet. Pairing so well with that classic dipping sauce that soft pretzels pair so well with. Mustard. Mustard is one of my go-to’s when I am enjoying a soft pretzel and I wanted to create a honey taste that pairs with plain mustard perfectly. The combination of the honey, which is sweet, with the salt and tangy mustard makes it complete.
Last but definitely not least, the coarse salt sprinkled on top. I mean let’s be honest, a good soft pretzel isn’t a good soft pretzel unless it has an abundance of salt on top. I used a pure flake sea salt from Jacobsen Salt Co. and highly recommend this salt if you can get your hands on some. It. is. amazing. Make your pretzels into the classic shape or try bite-sized for an easier option. This recipe is perfect for those backyard BBQs, and looks great on a buffet table…say for fourth of July; omg that is in less than a month!
