March is Women’s History Month! To all you boss babes out there, let’s celebrate! We are making history as we speak…or type and I think that is pretty dang cool. To help celebrate this special occasion I have a free printable with a great quote from a pretty inspirational woman; Maya Angelou.
My mother was a big women’s rights advocate and still is. I grew up watching her fight for our rights and support women to reach their goals or get through tough times.
She would remind me in various ways to be a proud woman; like telling me to sit up straight and saying “stick your chest out, be proud you’re a woman!”.
Of course, at the time I was a snotty teenager and didn’t get why she said it, but now that I understand the importance and I am thankful that I had her constant reminders.
This quote is a favorite of mine for so many reasons. One is that it is so dang true. Standing up for myself and all women is something I am so proud to do.
There have been countless women in the past who have stood up and made a difference for today, and we continue to do it now to influence change for tomorrow. We press for progress and fight for change and I will stand up for that any day.
To make this free printable I paired the quote with a watercolor background from deviant art and used canva to put it together. This background has such beautiful colors that bleed into each other.
It reminds me of all the colors that women bring to this world and incorporates two important colors for International Women’s Day; purple and red.
