Are you excited for Valentine’s day? To be honest, my husband Tyler and I do not do much for this holiday. You with think with my overwhelming excitement for the fall and winter holidays that this one would be no different, but it’s not at the top of my holiday love list. With that being said, I still enjoy the flowers and chocolates. I won’t pass up a chance to enjoy the treats that come with any holiday.
Depending on the day of the week Valentine’s day falls on, our usual plan is enjoying a great home-cooked meal. He knows to get me the usual flowers and candy and I am good to go.
Lately, the idea of a Galentine’s day celebration is popping up everywhere and although I am married, I love this idea! Usually, Galentine’s Day is celebrated by the single ladies (shout out to you fabulous gals!) but I think any ladies can get together and celebrate the love they share for each other as friends and just all around have a good time! Also, who says you have to throw a Galentine’s day party on the actual holiday? Uh, no one. So, celebrate early with your girls and with your significant day
A Galentine’s Day party is a dream for someone who loves party planning. That’s us! The style, the colors and of course all the cute details that can be added. Starting with favor bags! It is always a great surprise to get a favor bag at a party. It’s like you are being rewarded for
These favor bags are so easy to make and are so stinkin’ cute! The arrow, that has a removable heart tip, goes through the bag to keep it closed and has a simple gold heart right on the front.
What You’ll Need:
- Small Brown Bags (or color of your choice)
- Gold Heart Stickers or Gold Adhesive Paper
- Skewer Sticks
- Red or Pink Cardstock Paper
- Gold Washi Tape
- Precision knife
- Heart Punch
- Scrapbookers Glue
- Party favors
Let’s get started!
Start by placing the heart sticker on the front of the bags. I had some
Next, cut the skewer sticks down to about 6 inches long. Cut a two-inch piece of washi tape and stick it to the end of the skewer stick about an inch down the stick. Fold the other side over to evenly match and press together. Using the precision knife cut a V at the top and slits on the side to make it look like a feather.
Cut out two medium hearts with a heart paper punch or scissors. Fold hearts in half slightly so they have a light fold.
Using the scrapbookers glue, glue together the bottoms of the hearts leaving the top open. Once the hearts are glued, squeeze the side together to open up the top.
Using the precision knife, cut two slits about a half inch apart on the front side of the bag, make sure the slits go through to both sides.
Expand the bag and fill with fun party favors. This is probably the best part. Find those perfect little gifts that your gal pals will love. I found most of mine in the travel section at Target.
Here is what I used for some ideas! Blotting Sheets, Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic, Vaseline Lip Therapy, Nourishing Mask, OPI Nail Polish, Pearl Lip Balm, These stuffers are geared towards a Galentine’s Day party but this would also be a great craft with the kids for school.
When you have placed all your party favors in the bag, squeeze the top together and weave the skewer stick through and then place the heart on the end.
