Blood orange is my JAM lately! I have been experimenting with this beautiful fruit for the past few months and let me tell you…I am loving what I have come up with! My first experimental sesh produced mini blood orange ice cream cones that are so cute and soooo delicious! They were so good that I included them in my free e-cookbook. If you are digging the idea of a mini ice cream cone then you will love my free e-cookbook, yea you read that right, free! You will get the mini ice cream cone recipe and nine more bite-sized appetizers perfect for parties. Check it out and tell me what you think!

Speaking of ice cream, if you know me at all you know that two of my favorite things are ice cream and mimosas. Mimosas beating out ice cream by a good amount…I LOVE mimosas. Pretty sure if I had to pick one drink for the rest of my life (alcoholic that is, water is kind of important) I would choose mimosas. They are easy to make and the flavor options are endless. You can create really delicious mimosas that will wow your taste buds and your guests! In addition to that, they make for a beautiful drink table…who doesn’t love a good mimosa bar?!

Blood oranges are in season from December to May, which makes this recipe perfect to include on spring mimosa bars. The flavor of the orange alone is enough to give this mimosa a lovely sweetness and let’s not forget the rich color but pairing it with the ginger creates a slight zing that just works. I used ginger ale for this recipe, adding a little more bubbles to the bubbles is never a bad idea. I garnished with candied ginger, but fresh herbs can be an easy choice.

If you love mimosas too, you are going to love what I have coming up! Stay tuned for more mimosa recipes and party planning fun!
