Spring home decor that is simple, sleek and that brightens up the home. The colors of spring are returning and it’s only right to bring those colors into the home.

It’s about this time of year that I get really antsy for Spring. C’mon spring, I am waiting here! The winters in Portland can be rough. Cloudy, gloomy and down-right d-pressing but I am usually just as chipper in the winter as I am in the summer. Okay, maybe not just as chipper. Who can be just as chipper in 32 degree weather than 80 degree? You guessed it, no one.
I keep myself detracted with the holidays and baking delicious treats that I don’t seem to notice the gloom until January hits and I have no cheery holiday music to me smiling. Seriously, January is such a blah month. Sorry all you January babies, you are probably the only good thing that came out of that month.
Into February, I am checking the forecast all too often to see if the cold will lift and I can maybe work in the yard. Omg I miss gardening! Now, here we are in March and there is snow in the forecast…for the next two days <insert annoyed emoji here>. I am over it! This pale girl needs some sun rays, not for a tan just so my skin can feel alive again.
Well, I may not be able to go outside yet, or start my garden but I sure as hell can bring the spring into my home. We all know that Halloween is my favorite time of year to decorate, but I love the colors of spring. The soft pinks, the earthy greens ahhhh….they make me so happy.
I livened up my decor after the holidays and added this terrarium that I can’t get enough of and I posted my spring home decor favorites a couple weeks back for inspiration. I decided it was time I put a little spring in my home decor and brighten my living space.
The terrarium has been sitting on my coffee table for a few weeks and it looks so nice there, but I wanted to bring in some fresh flowers so I moved a DIY leather wrapped vase and added a blush pink candle. The tiny gold bird was my grandmothers and I cherish it so much. I love to add that into every decor season since she was one of my first inspirations for home decor.
These sweater knit throw pillows are new and so comfy. They are currently on sale and for a steal! Seriously, I couldn’t ring them up fast enough! And that pastel throw blanket; I made that myself from 2 1/2 yards of fleece fabric and soft faux fur backing. Inexpensive and easy to make.
Of course, I had to add some more potted plants because they make me so happy. If you live in the Portland area and haven’t visited Pistils Nursery. Do yourself a favor and go now.

I too can’t wait for spring to get here! It is my favorite season. I love for the sun to shine but not to be the heat of Summer yet. Love your spring decor! Wish I could have more houseplants but since I have cats and I can’t seem to keep plants alive I will have to pass on them.
